Basically, anywhere if the table is available
I am not professional player, never dreamed so, simply I like it . There are two favorite table in Amsterdam, but not anymore. It seems the time has changed, Dutch low has changed since 1st of July, 2008, not allowed smoking inside catering and dining and bar service, there are some smoking area in clubs or coffee shops, but I see the big difference. Maybe some people are not happy if I pick a topic of coffee-shops or stuffs, but I confess that one of multicultural researching is impossible to avoid this scene.
Throw one coin at the pool table and wait for your turn. Always the winner begin the game. There is a house rule which is not totally logical.
After my finish working in Amsterdam, I had to work on Saturday for shift, Friday refreshing my mind often I was there to see what happens. Some of players wanted to teach me how to play instead of starting inmediatly, such kind of situation it is important to beat them as quickly as possible, was good fun.
At the New Year party in Ho Chi Minh, long after breakfast, I hung around with the group of foreigners who somehow slipped into the party. Aussies and Austrians occupied the pool table for a long time. I was listening to a Canadian’s account of a love story who sat next to me while thinking and watching a game of pool. The experience triggered me to play pool in the next village. Since then, I can’t help playing pool whenever I see a pool table because everywhere I go, I find one. I remember ragged old tables, cues and game methods around the world. I am not a pro at all but a pool maniac. I would like publish my own pool autobiography in the philosophy tag.
I accept other players at anytime. I actually look for one guy in Europe, he should know this part of my life story and of course I would like to challenge to play with him. His name is Rick and he said to me he is from Linz and work as a journalist for newspapers every Tuesday sending travelling report.
I am surprising the number of tables in my visited countries. Sometimes I stay in small villages, every new town, like look for a dinner or get around to see what, the table information is one of the priority. It is kind of automatic action. Usually local people are very friendly and often people ask me when I come back.
This photo on the left side in New Zealand, one of my hitch taker’s friend’s house basement, very nice. I would like to live near pool table and eventually swimming pool as well.
There are so many efficient ways to enjoy the games, in Tonga Ha’apai group, for example I have played with 12-16 people with one table. Very good fun. Lapulou, I wonder if she is alright she was working every evening. My young Tongan friend. Pity I don’t have any photo of her, I should see her again and warm people from island Uiha.
I have learned that There are quite a few tables in the world and islands. But not Pitcairn islands… I guess. I have mentioned already one of the contact person of Pitcairn islands’ people about this subject. It will be hard but … I will see.
Message: If you have a “passion” for playing pool with strangers, use contact form and let’s have fun. But I find very important to (pool)table talk, you need to be funny as well. No jokes no fun. I am totally NOT serious …
